In his spare time, Dr. Alejandro Alvarado enjoys going outdoors and spending time with his family, tasting different flavors of food, listening to music and taking in the fresh air. After his formal training, he worked for the Ministry of Health in Venezuela for eight years. In addition to providing free dental care through the Healing Hands Outreach Program, he also dedicates hundreds of hours of volunteer work in the community, such as volunteering at a local pantry or volunteering at his local church.
After leaving Venezuela, Dr. Alvarado moved to the United States, where he completed his postgraduate studies with a stint in orthodontics at the John Hopkins University School of Medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Dentistry from Louisiana State University in New Orleans and became a diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics for his ability to provide high quality patient care. After eight years of service to the Costa Rican government in the Department of Health in his home country, he graduated from the University of California, San Diego, with a bachelor's degree and moved to Connecticut with his wife. During his three years in Connecticut, Dr. Porras forgot his profession as a dentist and his passion for dental care and volunteering.
He felt honoured to work in the cat hospital St. Petersberg, where he improved his knowledge and his handling. Dr. Guia moved back to Florida in 2014 and has been working as an orthodontist in a private practice ever since. When he is not caring for his patients, he enjoys spending time with his family, his wife and their three children, and his pets.
Michelle can't wait to continue helping to save lives and promote pet welfare. She is looking forward to her next days at work and to changing the lives of our pets!

SFENTA (tm) also works with referral providers to ask that patients who are known to have COVID-19 should not be sent to our practice. If you have flu - such as symptoms such as fever, cough, headache or sore throat - please call your healthcare provider and ask to speak to a member of staff who will advise you on further information and treatment suggestions. This protocol is mentioned in the call centre reception flyer and is followed when a patient informs staff that he has travelled outside the country within the last 14 days, is in contact with someone known or suspected of having the COID 19 virus and infects patients in a country to which he has travelled to the affected area. If you have experienced symptoms similar to flu or other respiratory disease in your local area, if you have not had fluorescence, Like symptoms that have occurred in the last 14 days in one or another country, contact one of our staff to decide whether or not you should visit one of these centres.
